Personal Scholarship
In 2006, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Nyenrode, our Fund took the initiative to support the best 60 MSc students by offering scholarships. Due to the enthusiasm of the students as well as the companies participating, additional scholarships were offered in the same year.
Everyone realized that a scholarship operates like a two-edged sword. Students realize that the careful matchmaking process with a participating company and a personal coach delivers an opportunity for students to gain a broad orientation with regard to their career perspectives. At the same time, the company is able to take advantage of the bright, fresh insights from the talented young students who have to dedicate their thesis to an intriguing aspect of the company.
The companies also have the first choice in presenting a job opportunity to the student. So the investment is worth far more than just the amount of money (10.000 Euro) which comes with for the scholarship. Moreover the company gains access to the programs provided by Nyenrode Career Services and to company presentations on campus during the annual organized Career Event or by means of a dedicated company lecture.

The personal scholarship of 10.000 euro is structured by means of an attractive life annuity which is tax deductible and therefore mostly offered via an individual alumnus. Alumni representing different years and different types of industry can organize coaches themselves or through their company.
Stichting Nyenrode Fonds presently administers those scholarships and by doing so has filled the gap left open by the commercial Banks that no longer provide sufficient student loans.
