Gifts for restoration

Since it first started in 1946, Nyenrode has been a private education institute. Although it was granted the status of "universiteit” 1992, it is still a private situation. . This means that, unlike all other universities financed by the government, Nyenrode has to fund itself.

We are located in a historically important estate which is blessed with several old monuments of which the castle is the most important icon. Maintaining these monuments costs a lot of money.  Recent renovations of the Castle and Koetshuis, both of which are very important for classes, programs, seminars, receptions and other festivities, could only be realized thanks to gifts from the alumni. Restorations have included repairs to the drawing bridges, the rose garden, the historic gate and some small and unique monuments. The romantic sounds of the clock tower carillon have been restored to their full glory thanks to alumni donations.

However, other unique monuments need restoration, such as the labyrinth with its summerhouse, the deer stable, the manger, the pheasantry and aviaries, the duck house, the pigeon houses and the orangery. Stichting Nyenrode Fund takes care of all these requirements and tries to assist wherever possible in the maintenance of our beautiful estate.
